Government Contract Proposal Writer

WebFirst is looking for talented business development staff who are interested in pursuing new opportunities with the latest technologies.

We are currently developing the next generation of web based applications for federal agencies such as USAID, FEMA, NIH and others. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Section 508 / Accessibility

The Proposal Writer will be responsible for supporting all phases of the proposal process in response to association and US Government technology-based requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs). The writer will work with upper management, our technical team and business development in developing these proposal responses.

Responsibilities will include

  • Support of all phases of the proposal process including content management (content review, new content creation, system updates), opportunity assessment, bid/no bid decisions, response design/development, response quality assurance, proposal delivery, win/loss analysis and proposal reporting
  • Conduct RFP analysis and dissection. Fully qualify client requests. Actively participate in bid-no bid decisions
  • Work with WebFirst leadership to respond to commercial and federal technology development-based RFPs/RFIs. Help to develop win themes and align proposal responses accordingly
  • Support proposal operations by conducting proposal reviews, story boarding sessions, and copy editing to ensure the development of high-quality responses in a timely manner
  • Help to capture and develop new proposal response content and graphics
Qualifications: 
  • 3-5 years of professional proposal writing experience required
  • Knowledge of government contracting and proposal experience
  • Knowledge of web development and/or associated technology
Desirable Skills: 
  • Excellent writing skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Clear communicator/writer
  • Ability to manage a project from start to end
  • Ability to take direction and change direction fluidly
  • Ability to work on multiple deadline driven projects simultaneously
  • Works well under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite 2003/2007 required
