BaseTrak

BaseTrak

BaseTrak is a system designed to help city, county, and state governments administer carpooling for employees of large corporations and the public. WebFirst developed a search algorithm that matches riders with drivers. The system works as follows: riders and drivers enter their home and work addresses into the system. When a rider searches for drivers, the system returns a list of drivers, ordered by closest route. This route is displayed on a map via pin drops and colored lines, using the latest Google maps technology.

WebFirst also created a unique and easy-to-use web-based content management system to create websites on the fly. These front end websites allow all commuters to log their miles traveled, calculate the carbon offset based on mode of transportation (bike, walking, car, bus, etc.), and create a report on all of these factors. Promoting a green lifestyle is what BaseTrak is all about!

BaseTrak is in use by county and state governments.

WebFirst has employed the latest, most reliable technology in the implementation of the BaseTrak System:

  • Microsoft’s ASP.NET with SQL Server
  • Google Map Technology for the mapping engine
  • AJAX and Advanced JavaScript
