Business Analyst

Location: 100% remote or Kensington, MD  

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst who will be responsible for analyzing and documenting business requirements, as well as creating technical solutions to meet those requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both business processes and technical systems, as well as excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders and development teams. This candidate must also have a strong attention to detail and be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, users, and customers. 

  • Document and translate business requirements into technical specifications. 

  • Work closely with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of solutions. 

  • Conduct research and evaluation of emerging technologies and trends in the industry. 

  • Provide support and guidance to end-users on technical issues and troubleshooting. 

  • Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and workflows 

  • Participate in testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the functionality and accuracy of solutions. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. 

  • Provide updates to System/functionality Release Plan for ongoing enhancements. 

  • Support FISMA LOW compliance by making sure that system design and implementation, security authentication and access control, user administration, processes and procedures, comply with FISMA LOW guidelines. 

  • Support analysis, design and implementation of system features/functions.  

  • Actively participate in agile scrum activities/client meetings around requirements, architecture, development, testing and deployment. Responsible for estimating, planning, managing tasks and reporting on progress. 

  • Collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to and produce quality software.  

  • Interact with users and Product Owners as necessary to clarify requirements.  

  • Support all software lifecycle activities including UX design, UAT, testing, reports development and documentation (EPLC, CMMI etc.)  

  • Provide daily, weekly schedule updates and status reports to management. 

  • Develop, review, and update process and reference documentation on an ongoing basis 

 

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • 11 years of experience and a Master’s degree (or 13 years of experience). 

  • Experience in an agile development environment. 

  • Good interpersonal, problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

  • Ability to identify problems, and effectively communicate solutions to peers and management. 

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities, requirements and technologies in a fast-paced environment. 

Desired/optional Skills & Experience 

  • Professional certification in Agile
