WebFirst created the NIH National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke’s (NINDS) ICARE website. ICARE is the Interagency Collaboration to Advance Research in Epilepsy. Epilepsy research needs reach across the missions of multiple NIH Institutes and Centers and external organizations. As the primary NIH Institute for epilepsy research, To meet this challenge, WebFirst worked closely with the NIH NINDS team to create a searchable data repository containing research and grant information relating to epilepsy studies. Users can search by PI, research type, epilepsy condition and funding year. The database contains funding information for clinical studies globally – for both NIH funded projects as well as others. WebFirst has also built in strong data visualization to allow users to slice the funding data by various parameters – e.g. by benchmarks, research classification or agency. Back end bulk uploading of the funding data has also been enabled.
