Food Using Data to Gain Insights into College Athletics
WebFirst assisted the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) with the Institutional Performance Program (IPP), a web based data reporting system. The purpose of IPP is to provide NCAA institutional leaders with vital and significant data to assist with planning, performance and oversight of their intercollegiate athletics program. The target audience includes College presidents, Athletic Directors, Title 9 officers, Chancellors and EEO directors.
WebFirst provided our UX/UI expertise resulting in a new overall design direction for the IPP Dashboard. Working in close concert with the NCAA staff, WebFirst has been leading the effort to develop Information Architecture (sitemap and high fidelity wireframes) and design compositions. Improvements and tasks include:
Overall usability & navigation improvements
Improvements in the presentation of the data
Audience analysis
Build out of design compositions
Systemic / incremental approach
By providing strong indicator data, charts, graphs and other metrics, the program can help support members with data models, data management and reporting. These data ultimately help to support the NCAA’s goal: to safeguard the health and well-being of student-athletes and promote the integrity of the institution.
